The Hills Singers will present their first full length concert of 2019 on Saturday 11 May at Christ Church, the Avenue, Malvern at 7.30 p.m.
The first half will be devoted to sacred works, including Thomas Tallis’s Lamentations Parts I and II, J S Bach’s Fuerchte dich nicht, and Ola Gjeilo’s Serenity: O magnum mysterium, with solo cellist Corinne Frost. The second will feature secular music by Elgar, Finzi, Ireland and the complete Flower Songs of Benjamin Britten.
Shorter appearances will occur on Saturday 20 April at 3 p.m. in the Malvern Priory for the Mayor’s Civic Service and as guest pre-concert performers in the foyer at the Malvern Theatres on Thursday 2 May at 630 p.m., before the Malvern Concert Club’s concert celebrating the centenary of the first performances of three great chamber works by Edward Elgar.
